you can pug an ursan group in DoA and do all four zones and mallyx in 3 hours. i suspect this might be the reason for ambraces dropping in sale value.

Frankly,

I think people are just starting to get sick of minis..

I used to really want a naga but after this weekend I'm pretty much thinking of getting rid of the pig an rat i got. I don't even want to look at minis anymore - I used to think they were cute. Now I just think they're annoying.

Actually, Im waiting for the official GW2 announcements that will indicate its release date or beta test. When that happens, I have the feeling that's when we will see sky falling. Four or three months into GW2 release, all the gazillion plats and ectos would mean very little.

So now, while the shadows of GW2 is still unclear and uncertain, it is a good time to sell these uber items while people still put great value in them.

My take.

Easy. Dedication.
A dedicated miniature is an almost worthless miniature.

It doesn't matter how many miniatures you add, people have 4..10 characters, and it's absolutely impossible to have 20 miniatures with 4..10 characters, that is 80..200 miniatures, as the game is right now.

No, the armbrace price drop is likely a cumulative result of Ursanway DOA overfarming.

True, except the uber items addable to your hall of monuments. I figure based on wiki there are 900 [naga's, yeti's, oni's] each. This meens of all the millions of people who will play GW2 , only 900 people will have whatever you recieve for having one of these "rare" mini's in gw2. There are even less zheds, shiroken, island guardians, pandas, and kanaxais. So that meens people are going to spend whatever they can to obtain one (or more) of these items, just so they can recieve that Limited amount of whatever you get in gw2.

Well that was my plan, hopefully you get a benefit for the individual mini, and not just for having "xx" so many mini's.

There's absolutely no evidence that having a rare pet will give any GW2 benefit. Benefits will more likely come from filling monuments. I could imagine KoaBD plays a part, because of the way the monument changes, but that's all. I wouldn't go expecting every specific thing you can put into the HoM, to have a specific reward, unless you enjoy disappointment.

No evidence disproving it either, its all still up in the air. I dont see why they wouldnt reward those with rare-mini's over those who dont have though.

Many of the people who got these rare mini's won them in contests, it would be a shame not to be recognized for winning in a contest, in gw2.

either that, or take all the people who won a contest ever, add their accounts to a database, and give them a title or somthing. idk

No worries, Anet will step in and give you this awesome 5 for 1 deal to raise the price again. Celestial Zhed ftw.

It's easy:

#1 DoA over-farm caused the armbrace drop, the minis above the 1500E+Arm range dropped in price, so did all the other limited minis.
#2 People had to sell their minis to get enough ectos for a Miniature Greased Lightning, they had to sell fast, so they had to sell at a low price, this fact scared people into also selling low because they expected a massive price drop.

It'll balance out soon imo

I agree with dude above me, its inevitable minis will get more expensive, in the end titles, minis and everything that u can put in HoM will matter...ur also forgetting LOL that when gw2 comes out a couple million players are not just going to drop gw1 even the ppl that do that will still come back to finish or add something to their HoM once they figure out what u need for gw2 or what particular edge u get

I hate to burst your bubble, but it's pretty obvious to me that the reward for having a mini will be . . . the mini.

I don't think so... imo there will be a reward for having 20 Minis dedicated in the Hall, no matter if they are Pandas or Pigs. They said, that GW2 shall be a 'new game' - HoM will only provide items to show, that you are a 'veteran', right?

Surprised that people are disturbed by the shift in high-end mini prices.

There's simply a lot of motion in that market as people with the Asian minis and Ghostly use them as a way to get enough to afford beetles. Additionally, people WITH beetles use them as a means to trade down and avoid taking on armbraces. Net effect: high velocity (turnover) in these pets relative to other times, which tends to decrease prices.

It'll settle out.

the price of asain minis(oni, yeti, naga, zhed, shiroken, vizu) has dropped right after the cantha new year festival event.so this made me think that ppl that are wanting the mini beetle, or party animal point are try to get rid of their semi rare ones to be able to afford a beetle or max the title out.this is just my opinion though.

yeah , i think its probably to try and get the beatle while they are still decently priced. ( O.o although they were cheaper than this when there were less of them last year , lol )
